How does the advertising on meinVZ work?

Previously: non-personalised adverts

1. A range of companies want to advertise on meinVZ.
2. The companies pass their adverts to meinVZ. The adverts are then displayed to all users.

User information is at no point given to advertisers.
3. All users see the same (and therefore more) adverts. Adverts for women’s cosmetics, for example, will be displayed to both men and women.
Users see more adverts, and adverts that are less interesting for them.
4. Following the campaign, meinVZ only provides the companies with (anonymous) information on how many users saw the advert, and how many clicked on it.

User information is at no point given to advertisers.

Today: personalised adverts

1. A cosmetics company would like to advertise on meinVZ.
2. The cosmetics company passes their advert to meinVZ and requests that the advert be visible only to women.

User information is at no point given to advertisers.
3. Whereas previously the advert would have been displayed to everyone, it is now only displayed to women. Men will not see this advert:
Users see less adverts, and adverts that are more relevant to them.
4. Following the campaign, meinVZ only provides the company with (anonymous) information that, for example, 100,000 women saw the advert and 2,500 of them clicked on it.
User information is at no point given to advertisers.
